Commissioned by author Sharon Clark, this delightful children’s book invites young readers into the fascinating world of honeybees, exploring their unique way of communicating through movement. The story follows an adorable bee as it embarks on a journey of discovery, learning the waggle dance—the extraordinary way bees share information about food sources.
Using my colorful personal vector art style, I crafted dynamic and visually rich scenes that captured the imaginative atmosphere the author envisioned. Every moment was carefully designed with vibrant colors and engaging compositions to highlight the energy and teamwork of honeybees, making their world feel immersive and lively. A key challenge was illustrating the waggle dance in a way that made it both fun and understandable for children. By carefully choreographing movement within the visuals, I ensured the dance felt dynamic while remaining educational.
Beyond illustration, I designed the cover, layout, and prepared print-ready files, ensuring a seamless and polished final book. My proudest achievement in this project was bringing the magic of honeybee communication to life—turning a scientific concept into a visually captivating and joyful experience for young readers.
