This lighthearted yet essential children's book teaches young readers about the importance of helmet safety through a fun and engaging story. Emma's adventure takes her speeding down the ski hill—only to collide with two mischievous bunnies! Through humor and playful interactions, the bunnies share an important lesson about protecting oneself while skiing and snowboarding.
Using my personal vector art style, I crafted bright, energetic illustrations that enhance the snowy, fast-paced environment while keeping the characters expressive and charming. One of the key challenges was balancing the educational aspect with a visually engaging and fun story. To achieve this, I focused on dynamic compositions, exaggerated expressions, and inviting colors to make Emma’s journey exciting while ensuring the message resonated with young readers.
Collaboration with the author was essential in shaping each scene and refining the characters’ interactions to perfectly communicate the book’s theme. My proudest accomplishment in this project was capturing Emma’s transformation—showing how a simple but impactful lesson can turn an ordinary ski day into an empowering moment of learning and adventure.
